About Camp Fire Camp Namanu

Camp Namanu is Oregon's oldest continuously operating summer camp, founded in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places (2024). Located on 552 acres on the Sandy River beneath Mt. Hood, with historic buildings designed by architect Pietro Belluschi. Activities include archery, horseback riding, swimming, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Author Beverly Cleary attended as a child. The camp serves over 1,500 campers each summer with sessions ranging from 3 to 10 days.
