About Fir Acres Writing Workshop

Fir Acres Writing Workshop at Lewis & Clark College is the premier residential creative writing program for high school students in the Pacific Northwest, attracting 60 students from across the country. This intensive two-week program offers daily workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative prose led by published faculty. Evening gatherings feature distinguished visiting writers (past visitors include National Book Award winner Mary Szybist). Students also take trips to Powell's City of Books and the Independent Publishing Resource Center, connecting with Portland's literary community.
