As kids grow up in the camp system, leadership programs provide a bridge to becoming counselors themselves. These Counselor-in-Training (CIT) and leadership programs help teens develop skills in mentoring, communication, and responsibility. Many programs offer reduced tuition or are free in exchange for the teen's contributions to camp operations. These experiences can launch careers in youth development and outdoor education.
